Mission Statement:
To produce the highest quality products, in their respective
categories. To price the products
in manner that the majority of consumers can afford them. To
employ agricultural techniques that are responsive to environmental
and socio-economic concerns.
Field ripened fruit naturally tastes better and
contains better levels of nutrients and vitamins. Product is
inspected on both sides of the production line;
as a fresh product going into the dehydrator and as a finished
product before packaging.
Reserva Dorada dehydrated fruit is 100% fruit, the average
fresh to dried yield is just over 5%. In other words, it takes
about 20 pounds of fresh product to yield 1 pound of dehydrated
fruit. Dried fruit which contains additives can be as much
75% added sugars; makes for pretty expensive sugar.
We pride ourselves as being as vertical a company as is possible.
Our farms produce the majority of the fruit which we process
or ship fresh. Packaging is performed at our manufacturing
plant eliminating the need for repacking and additional product
handling. The company acts as both the exporter and importer.
Reserva Dorada Dehydrated Fruit
Since 1993 Casa Alimenta has been producing dried tropical
fruits. In 2002, the new brand
Reserva Dorada was adopted to celebrate our new production
facility and product improvements.
The 'del Eden' / Reserva Dorada connection. To make great tasting
dried fruit you need to start with premium field ripened
produce. Two of the more problematic
fruits in this category have been pineapple and papaya. To
eliminate the inconsistencies typical in the finished product
our company started the Montelimar plantation and the 'del
Eden' brand. We now grow 100% of the pineapple and papaya sold
under the Reserva Dorad brand of dehydrated fruit. Because
of the proximity of farm to manufacturing facility we allow
the fruit to develop the perfect profile for dehydrating.
NO PRESERVATIVES, ADDED SUGARS or JUICES-dried fruit that contains
preservatives and/or sugars and juices is typically not field
ripened. Sulphur dioxide is used to preserve the color of
the fruit. Sugars, cane juice and "natural fruit" juices
give 'green' fruit a more palatable flavor and act as a preservative.
The natural sugars which develop in field ripened fruit work
just as well.
